WE ALL HAVE A REASON TO PAINT INSIDE.

There are many reasons our customers want us to do interior painting for them. Some are buying a new home and want to have it updated with fresh paint before they move in by an experienced interior painter. Some have kids moving out or newborns coming in and need that room ready with a fresh coat of paint that they can clean and scrub.

Some walls and trim could just be showing wear and tear or the color is dated. Maybe they have wallpaper they want have removed and want a new color in its place in a kitchen or bathroom. We paint ceilings because of water damage from a leaking roof or HVAC unit. Maybe a big event is coming up and it needs to be perfect. Maybe there is popcorn ceilings and they want that removed. It could be anything.

There are hundreds of reasons to paint and you have a lot of choices. You have found an awesome residential interior painter. One of our core values is to treat the customers home like it’s our own. We work quietly, carefully, and efficiently to give you what you want and what you expect when hiring a professional painter.

Will You Give Me a Detailed Estimate For Interior Painting?

Yes! Every paint contractor does estimates differently. Some write a lump sum on the back of a business card, while others don’t even call you back or provide the estimate at all. Or how about an estimate that doesn’t separate everything so you can’t see the individual prices? Or one that includes materials but it doesn’t tell you what material they are going to use? It’s likely that you will get one or more of these kinds of painting estimates when you get multiple quotes, but, we do it different.

We will list out each space and the costs for each area in the space. Our painting estimates are thorough and detailed and cover everything we discussed up to that day.

What to Expect During Your Residential Interior Painting Estimate?

Our estimator will join you for a walk-through to discuss the interior painting you would like to have done. Once we have the details, the estimator will go back through to measure each area to be painted. The advantage of this, versus a “guesstimate“, is that we know the proper amount of time required to properly paint the ceilings, walls, doors, windows, moldings, and cabinets. We won’t have to “hurry” and “cut corners” once the job starts because we suddenly realize we didn’t bid correctly.

As we walk through, square feet measurements are taken of the walls and ceilings, the lineal foot of crown molding, baseboards, and miscellaneous trim, and a count of all doors, windows, and cabinets. With 35 years of data, we fairly quote to give you a job that you expect. By listing each item separately with pricing, and materials, we are transparent and detailed with your interior estimate and it doesn’t matter if the job is worth $800 (our painting minimum) or $16,000. We don’t try to hide behind the ‘lump sum” bid. We want you to know how and why the price is what it is.

Our Interior Painting Process...

Once you accept the quote and the deposit is paid, the work behind the scenes start. We get your colors and order materials, create work orders, discuss your job with your project manager, and get you scheduled. Upon arrival onsite,  the project manager will introduce the crew and we will begin our work. This begins by moving any furniture and covering all areas not to be painted. We then patch holes, caulk, putty, and sand as needed. Once the prep has been completed we get to the fun part, WE PAINT.

Once your interior painters are complete, they will clean up in each area worked in. We don’t want to leave any space with debris or dust when we leave. The last thing you should do is clean up after having something painted in your home. Our #1 goal is to make you happy, and in turn, you will refer us to your friends, family, and coworkers and leave us with a 5-star review.

Frequently Asked Questions

We measure the surface of each area you want painted and price is based on that. Every paint job is different. Ceiling and wall heights, amount of trim, vinyl or wood windows, crown or no crown, include closets or not, etc., etc.

We will meet with you during the estimate and only include the items you want to get painted. The painting estimate is detailed and itemized and gives you a complete picture of the scope of work and the cost to get the project completed.

For sheetrock walls, we always recommend a high quality interior acrylic latex. All the materials we use for interior painting are washable. Check out our article, Wall Paint – Satin vs. Flat Paint

We use a few different brands of paint because we want to use the best paint for what we are painting. It will be normal to see a couple different brands being used on your interior paint job. We use Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Proluxe, PPG, and Zinsser products, to name a few.

We never want you to make it difficult to find the right color. Most all paint stores can match their competitor’s colors. We prefer Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore colors but any locally available paint colors are fine. If you are at Lowe’s, get a Valspar color. If you are at Home Depot, get a Behr color. Just get the name, number, and manufacturer so we can match it in the paint we are using.

Most interior wall and ceiling paint will dry to the touch in 30-60 minutes. Trim paint usually dries to the touch in 1-2 hours.

The main thing you need to do is remove all items from the walls. If you are hanging things back in the same place, leave the hanger. Otherwise, remove the hanger and the hole will be patched before painting. Move all breakable items from the area we are painting, such as clocks, lamps, small furniture, rugs, curtains, window blinds, etc. China hutches and buffets must be empty for us to move.

Not usually. We have furniture slides to move the bigger furniture around during painting. We do not move power adjustable bed frames, clocks, electronics, or pianos.

Absolutely! All areas will be vacuumed and dusted before we leave. We want you to 100% happy and ready to enjoy your newly painted area without having to clean it up first.

Great question! We work in Lexington, Chapin, Columbia, Irmo, and all areas in between. We also go to parts of Elgin. We try to stay within 1 hour from our shop in Lexington.

After over 35 years in the painting industry, we have come to the conclusion that every paint manufacturer makes good paint if you buy the best they offer.

That being said we use Sherwin Williams mainly with some Benjamin Moore and PPG periodically.

Just remember, they all make some not so stellar products also so make sure if you are getting an estimate, the contractor tells you what they are using.
